Leona Matthysse

Mrs. Leona Matthysse, aged 97 of Jenison, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marinus; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Calvin Bruins; infant grandson, Jeffrey Bruins; infant great granddaughter, Olivia Matthysse; her brothers and sisters-in-law; Gerald and Wilma Doornbos, Ken and Pat Doornbos and Rev. Marvin Doornbos. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Nancy Matthysse; grandchildren, Craig and Tara Bruins, Celeste and Rob Stob, Christopher and Kelly Matthysse, and Jeff and Tara Matthysse; her great grandchildren, Billy and Joy Bruins, Cali, Drew and Emelia Stob, Elliana, Max and Cooper Matthysse; her brother and sisters-in-law, Dr. Milton and Jeanne Doornbos and Marie Doornbos; several nieces and nephews. Funeral and committal services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville with her brother, Dr. Milton Doornbos and Rev. James Evenhouse of the 12th Ave. Chr. Ref. Church officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home Monday from 7-9 p.m.
