He was the first golf pro at The Pines golf course in Wyoming, MI. He then moved to Fairway Estates (Gleneagle) for 17 years. He achieved his lifelong dream of owning a golf course alongside his wife Karen. He accomplished his goal by purchasing Crestview Golf Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he invested 24 years prior to retirement. He was an honest businessman and generous to his family and friends.
Larry enjoyed golfing with Dana, Bill, Jerry, his brothers and many more. Alongside golf, he enjoyed NASCAR, ARCA, and antique cars, especially Hot Rods. Larry appreciated God’s great outdoors, including fishing, pheasant hunting in South Dakota, and planting trees. Larry and Karen have been active members of Rosewood Reformed Church for over 50 years. They enjoyed square dancing and card games with their cherished friends, traveling in their motorhome, and 27 winters together in Florida. Larry loved to laugh with family and friends over a cold Bud Light and enjoyed comedians Jackie Gleason and Carol Burnett. Larry loved his family and friends and always had a huge heart for golf and the Detroit Lions.
