Lawrence L. Oostema

Lawrence Lyle Oostema, age 48, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 1, 2020, and went to be with Jesus. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Leigh; his grandparents, Larry and Lila Alkema; Jack and Sadie Oostema. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother and step father, Tanya and Steve Sawdy; father and stepmother, Bernie and Shelby Oostema; sisters and brother, Tami Oostema, Tim Oostema, Lisa Nicholson; 2 nieces, Tiffani Smith and Traci Smith; 3 nephews, Jeremy and Jared Nicholson, Jordan Sawdy; 2 grandnieces and 1 grandnephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be held 1 pm Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Due to gathering restrictions, there will be a limit on the number of people who may enter the building at a time. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
