Lawrence Chapin

CHAPIN - Mr. Lawrence "Larry" "Scooter" R. Chapin aged 77 passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron, Chet, Dick and Russel; sister, Barb. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Betty; children, Lee (Karen) Kelly, Tim (Cassandra) Kelly, Howard (Suzanne) Kelly, Teresa (Tom) Bronkema; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Bob) Bronson, Ruth (Marv) Gage; sisters-in-law, Betty, Karen and Sue; brother-in-law, Coke Sexton; sister-in-law, Janice (Bob) Heyboer and their daughter, Chris; several nieces, nephews and many good friends. Larry proudly served in the US Army from 1963-1965, during his service he played on the Army Baseball Team at Fort Lee. He retired from Steelcase after 30 years. A celebration of Larry's life will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
