Laverne Edward Crowner, aged 78, of Grandville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Nancy; children, Roger Crowner, Brian and Heather Crowner, Brenda and Pete Mumbower; grandsons, Drew Crowner, Luke Crowner, David Mumbower; granddaughters, Catherine Crowner, Adrian Crowner, Charlize Crowner, Abbie Mumbower, Rio Jordan, Bella Mumbower, Kailey Mumbower; step-father, William Spitsbergen; sister-in-law, Sally Crowner; brother-in-law, Ray and Shirley Dreyer; step-brothers and step-sisters, Daniel (Betsy) Spitsbergen, Barbara (Donald) Graham, Deborah Smith, Linda (Bill) Newhouse, Timothy (Esther) Spitsbergen; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and June Crowner Spitsbergen; brother, William Crowner; brother-in-law, Dale Dreyer.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at New Life Baptist Fellowship, 6252 Burlingame Ave SW, Byron Center, with Rev. C. Powers Payton officiating. Private burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Baptist Fellowship or David’s House Ministries.
