LaVerna C. Schrader, aged 73 of Wyoming, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Leona Kosik. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 53 years, Don; children, Dawn and John DeRidder, Bonnie and Craig Johnston, Gregory and Brandi Schrader; nine grandchildren; and thousands of friends. LaVerna was a loving, caring woman who always put others first. She was happiest helping others and was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. She naturally attracted those who needed help and always made sure their needs were met. LaVerna was known to “converse” with the referees asking, “Is this your cell phone? It must be yours because it has a lot of missed calls!” A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Intombment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming on Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. There will be a vigil service on Monday at the funeral home at 7:30 pm, which will include a time for sharing memories. Memorial contributions may be made to International Myeloma Foundation.

Dear Bonnie, i am so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. It is so hard to lose your parents, even though she is in heaven, and her sufferings are over. May God give you and your family consolation in this time of sorrow. Love and prayers, Sister Margaret Weber, RSM
