Laurie Rusche

Rusche - Laurie L. Rusche, aged 60, of Sparta went to be with her Lord and Savior, August 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawerence Sullivan, mother and father- in- law, William and Valerie Rusche. Laurie is survived by her mother Myrna Sullivan, husband of 30 years, Timothy; sons Steve, Chris (Niky), Matt, Nick (Kelsey); grandchildren, Samantha, Brady, Olivia, Ryan; brother Michael (Pamela) Sullivan; sisters Cheryl (Dave) Wilson, Terri (Gene) Wotell; brother and sisters-in-law, Jim ( Lou Ann) Workman, Julie Dykehouse, Diane Newell; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Laurie was a proud member of Plainfield Christian Church where Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 11, 2020, 7255 Pine Island Dr NE, Comstock Park. Laurie’s family will greet relatives and friends 4:00PM to 7:00PM Thursday September 10th at Plainfield Christian Church and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Laurie was born and grew up in Muskegon, Michigan before moving to and graduating from Rockford. She loved music and excelled at performing and teaching music, which included traveling the country with an organ performance group.   After becoming a mom, Laurie spent many years as the general manager of English Hills, where she made many lifelong friends, and met her future husband.   Later she started a new career as a financial advisor with New England Financial, and continued with DAE Financial.  Again, she found a lot of success and built many great relationships with coworkers and clients.

During all of these years, Laurie made it constantly clear that the two greatest passions of her life were her Christian faith and being extraordinarily dedicated to her family and friends.  She exemplified generosity and kindness throughout her life by always placing the wellbeing and happiness of others before her own. Perhaps her greatest love and passion was spending quality time in the last chapter of her life as the best mother, wife, and most wonderful Nana to her beloved grandchildren.
