I replaced Larry's position on Grand Haven Police Dept. when he went into the Michigan State Police, then I also left to go to the MSP. I was assigned to Romeo and Larry was one of my senior officers for training. Great guy and we shared multiple stories of working in Grand Haven. My sympathies to the whole family.

Dear Aunt Marge, Tresa, Dave, Jenny and families, My prayers are with you in the homegoing of Uncle Larry. I have so many amazing memories of us kids growing up together and us being in Iona or you in Spring Lake. Memories of rolling over "king" and using him as a horse more than a police dog. The stories of mom and Aunt Marge living together whether it be with Grandma Tripp or in an apartment that dad and Uncle Larry would go to pick them up on a date at 713 and stand outside waiting to knock on the door until 713 not 712 or 714. How I have heard lots of those fun stories and become so exact about time myself because of our parents. Lol. What a legacy Uncle Larry has left to you all....a Godly one that his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember him by. That is what counts! My love to you all as you must go through these next days of supreme grief and then the firsts over the next year. We know God's grace is sufficient and may you feel the words to the song on the Tripp Sisters lp I think of so often. " He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater. He sendeth more strength when the labors increase..to added affliction, He addeth His mercy. To multiplied trials His multipled love." You will be in my prayers. I love you all.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Larry will be missed. Hopefully Revelation 21:4 might give you comfort where it says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
