Larry Gene Marlink

Larry Gene Marlink age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 after a long battle with illnesses. He was born on January 9th, 1941, the eldest of 12 children. As a young man, Larry served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman. He was later employed at Steelcase in the shipping department which he retired from in 1991, after 30 years of employment. On October 20th, 1961, he married Sylvia (Dykstra) and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Together, they had 4 children; Michelle (Jack) Flokstra, Christena (Bill) Roberson, Larry (Monica) Marlink, and Richard (Paula) Marlink, who made them so proud. He loved being with his grandchildren; Renea (Nicholas) Miller, Billy (Katie) Roberson, Brian (Hillary) Roberson, Jessica (Josh) Ingram, Corinne Marlink, Jacob Marlink, Ryan Marlink, and Danielle Marlink. Their legacy continues on with 4 great-grandchildren; Chase Ingram, Jace Roberson, Reid Roberson, and the most recent addition, Beau Roberson. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed being outdoors and doing several activities such as camping, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. "Grandpa Marlink" had a great passion for fishing, however, it was never about the fishing to the grandkids. To them, it was about the time spent catching them together. Immediate family and close friends are welcomed to a Celebration of Life which will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 19th at Fair Haven Church located in The Rock at 2900 Baldwin St. Hudsonville, MI 49426. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at SKLD in Zeeland, MI for all of their loving care shown to Larry.
