LaDee Zukowski

Zukowski, LaDee (Kellar), 89, passed away at home Saturday, February 29, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ralph Louis, 93, just nine days prior; as well as her brothers Dwight and Guy Kellar. She is survived by her children, Ralph S, James D, and Paula Zukowski, and Jennifer (Kevin) Wadsworth, grandchildren, Leigh (James) Wisniewski, Lynne (John) McClure, Susan (Kurt) Rausch, Ellen Hoffman, Kiana, Ksena (Josh) Wadsworth; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ava, Mea, Louis, Elle, Ty, Vincent. LaDee was the office manager for Furniture City Glass for many years. LaDee and Ralph built most of the houses they lived in, with his knowledge of carpentry and her attention to detail. Dee cherished time with family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - all of whom knew "they" were the special one. She was truly the Matriarch that we all looked to for strength and comfort. She was a member of the Emerald Street Coffee Group which originated in the early 1950's. They meet monthly, and current friends include: Carole, Lois, Irene, Lucille, Jackie, and Gen. She loved quilting, cooking, flowers, a good game of scrabble with Kim, and she especially loved children. She always had a little song for everything. Over the years she planted an abundance of plants and flowers around her and Ralph's property. She made beauty of wildness without taking away the wild. She loved all animals, especially cats (currently Freckles and Mikey), and always had one on her lap. Her warmth and beauty, inside and out, will be deeply missed but forever kept close at heart. A memorial mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm followed by a family and friends visit in the church basement.
