Kurt Douglas Anderson, age 45, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 8, 2018. He fought so hard to stay with us, but was called home instead. Kurt was born on November 5, 1972, in Grand Rapids to Robert Anderson Jr. and Shirlene Clemons. He served in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1993. He then settled back in Grand Rapids where he proudly worked in leadership roles in manufacturing, most recently at Mico Industries. Kurt met the love of his life, Kristen, in 2006 and later married in 2009. Kurt was an avid golfer and loved camping, his dog, Sparky, and following the Green Bay Packers. Kurt was known for his heart of gold, his light-hearted humor and his devotion to his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife, Kristen (Sybesma), and beloved daughter Emma Joy; sister, Heather Anderson, and brother, Alex Clemons; father, Robert Anderson Jr. and mother, Shirlene (James) Clemons; father and mother-in-law, Walt and Arla Sybesma; and a large circle of family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Grand Rapids First Church, 2100 44th Street SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Kerry Watts officiating. Inurnment Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Emma Joy Anderson’s Memorial Fund at Lake Michigan Credit Union and also gf.me/u/f4c57u.

I’ve worked , golfed and have had a few drinks with Kurt , he always had a positive attitude and fun to be around . I’m sad he has been takin from his family and friends at a much to young age . RIP
