Kristine Parker

Kristine Ann Parker ("Kristi"), née Stromp, Kentwood, Michigan resident, age 51, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, having faced ovarian cancer, surgeries, and treatments since June 2011. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Phil; her daughters Sarah and Emily; son Trevor; grandson Jensen; father Gary; and sister Lisa. She was preceded in death by her mother Elaine and sister Michelle, both of whom also had ovarian cancer. Kris was an awesome mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her kids and grandson. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and loved any occasion to dance. Her favorite hobbies were painting, drawing, cross stitching, and knitting. Kris was born in Muskegon but spent a lot of her life in Grand Haven, Michigan. Kris tested positive for BRCA1 and was able to help her family and extended family to prevent cancer with this knowledge. The family would like to thank the parishioners and staff of St. Patrick Church in Grand Haven for the extraordinary kindness and love given to Kristi and her family as the family was dealing with 3 people with cancer at the same time. Services will be held at St. Patrick and St Anthony Catholic Church, 920 Fulton St, Grand Haven, MI 49417 on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior. Interment is at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012 the following week.
