Kristin Michelle Woodliff

Kristin Michelle Woodliff, age 35, of Allendale, went to her heavenly home following unexpected complications from surgery. A 2006 graduate from Jenison High School, she was a cheerleader and talented dancer on the poms dance team. She also danced tap, ballet, jazz, and pointe and participated in competitive gymnastics. She cherished spending time with her son, Liam. Together they spent much of their time outside, bird and cloud watching, drawing with chalk, or playing soccer. Kristin was a patient care associate at Zeeland Hospital. She was creative and enjoyed drawing, painting, and reading. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her jovial spirit, and caring heart. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sylvia Czentnar, Dewie Dunn, Ronald and Genevieve Woodliff; and uncle, Joseph Czentnar. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Gary "Woody" and Sharon Woodliff; son, Liam Woodliff; brothers, Joshua Woodliff, Daniel Woodliff; boyfriend, Brian Demmink; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Bob Bloom officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family for visitation on Friday, January 27 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the family for the future educational needs of Liam.

My Dear Daughter Kristin Michelle... I miss you so very much Buddy, I Love You! You brought a lot of joy into my life, for this I'm grateful. I always enjoyed your beautiful smile to greet me and your sparkling eyes. You were so spirited and full of life. Whenever I was with you, you would light up the room and turn heads with your wonderful red hair. Being my only daughter you were so special to me, Daddys little girl. You had a great sense of humor, were sarcastically funny and I enjoyed your clever puns. So many people loved being around you, you always acknowledged them as friends. You were filled with kindness and a hard worker, I guess you did listen to your good 'ol Dad after all. I continue to look at your pictures and I weep with both joy and sadness. Thank you for being my Daughter, for this I'm eternally happy. I will see you again someday when you and our Lord and Savior Jesus great me in Heaven! My Lovely Kristin, I will always Love You!

I will never forget the first time I drove by your house when you moved in and saw Kristin playing in the driveway in her diaper. Immediately I said to myself, I must introduce myself as my daughter was about the same age. I am so glad I did as your family became lifelong friends and created lifelong memories. I hope we can be there for you in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. Keep your faith and know that Kristin is in good hands.

To say this is the most tragic and sad things to happen to our family would be an understatement. You expect to bury your parents and grandparents but never your children. I have always told everyone that Kristin was given her middle name because of me. We shared the name because we were so cool that we had to match. I am going to keep believing that! I do not have any words of wisdom or something that will take the pain away, I just can pray that God's grace brings you all healing and strength to get though this and know that you have Liam here and he is a shining example of her love. I also hope that Grandpa Dewie is greeting her with open arms, he was very proud that she gave him his first great-grand child. Sharon, Woody, Josh and Daniel I am so sorry for your loss. Of 16 grandkids there are only 4 girls and Kristen was the oldest. Every year I remember getting family photos of Kristen, Josh and Dan and dreaming about how I wanted my hair to be like hers. Even though we did not see each other often in our lives, she was still my cousin. As we grew up and other cousins started to get married, we would make it a point to hit the dance floor together... oh and the photo booth pictures I have are priceless! Kristen, you were so much fun and I always enjoyed our late night Facebook chats. Tell me how am I supposed to be the oldest girl now??? That is your job girl! RIP Cuz. I love you! To Aunt Sharon - When I saw you at Grandpa's funeral you did not hesitate to get up and hug me and hold me to tell me everything was going to be okay. Please take this message as that same hug and care back to you. I am so sorry this happened. To Uncle Woody, Josh & Dan - Keep her spirit alive. Kristen sure could light up a room and she needs you to help that live on. To Liam, Little Man your life will never be the same, but know you are loved more than you will ever know and you will have an angel watching over you for all your days. I remember Kristin from back in the day at gymnastics unlimited. and reconnected when we both worked at American House. she was always a joy to talk to and cared so well for the residents she will be missed deeply.

I only had the pleasure of working with Kristin for a short time but I can honestly say I enjoyed every second of it and I know many of us who had the joy of knowing her felt the same. When I first met Kristin we instantly made a connection I think it was the “I like you, you’re weird” statement she made towards me that sealed it for me. She was a true gem. One time I had a grumpy patient that yelled at me and I told her about it and she said "How dare he talk to my co-worker that way!" I of course laughed at the intensity she had when saying that and she was like "I'm serious, you're awesome you don't deserve that". That was not a brag for myself at all the point to that little story was that Kristin not only knew how to make people smile but she truly cared about others and would do literally anything for people around her simply because she wanted to. She took everything in her own stride and I admired her for it, she never let anything get her down she was proud to be unique and I am proud for her. Kristin was a rarity and I am sure I am not alone in feeling so very happy and privileged to have known her. I hope sweet Liam knows how much his mother was loved and will continue to be, she was the greatest and I know she raised another fabulous human to gift the world with. Love you, girl.

She was always a pleasure to work with, if I came in being quiet or grumpy she would be the first to come over and say “Car Car you can’t be sad you are here with me” she was such a amazing person. Kristin will be missed greatly.
