Kristi Jo Saurman, age 70, of Holland and Grandville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 16, 2025. To Kristi, family came first, followed closely by her friends. She lived out her faith every day and was an excellent example of Christ to them. She enjoyed spending time in God’s creation on the beach at Lake Michigan, especially during sunset. Kristi will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Scott; children, Heather (Jason) Condon, Jonathan Saurman (Matthew Warzecha), Jessica (Kendra) Saurman-Beckman; grandchildren, Weston, Crew, Smith, and Roman Condon; mother, Coral Van De Burg; her sister and four brothers; brother-in-law, Jerry Saurman; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. To us, she will always be our Valiant Lady. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Van De Burg, and her brother, Todd Van De Burg. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St. Hudsonville. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 am -12:30 pm prior to the service as well as after the service for an extended time of fellowship.

It has been a week since Kristi’s funeral, and I’ve been imagining the difficult change in the lives of each of her loved ones. Such a great loss for you, and I’ve been praying for comfort from the Holy Spirit. He knows exactly how each of you feel and what you need.
I enjoyed raising our kids together at Tri-Unity. The last time I ran into Kristi was at the Holland Farmers Market. It was a nice surprise, and I got to meet her sweet mom. Her smile matched the beauty around her!

Dear Scott,
We were so saddened to hear of Kristi’s passing. From the moment we met her, she welcomed us into the Holiday Haven family with such warmth and grace that it felt like we had been friends for years.
We’ll always treasure the happy hours spent together in the back row of the park — her laughter, her kindness, and the way she made everyone feel valued. Her faith shone through in every interaction. Seeing the love surrounding you at her funeral was a powerful reminder of the beautiful impact she had on so many lives.
Please know that Marla and I are holding you close in our hearts. We will miss Kristi deeply, but we rejoice in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. May God’s comfort and strength be with you in the days ahead — and know that your Holiday Haven family is here for you.
With love and sympathy,
Jim & Marla

Dear Scott & family, I am saddened to hear of your loss. I am so glad that I got to know Kris in the past few years. I was blessed by her kindness, gentleness, sense of humor & especially her love of Jesus Christ! It is because of her love for Jesus (and mine too) that I know & have the blessed assurance that when Jesus also calls me home-I will see Kris again. Until then- I pray that our Father God of all comfort be with you and surround you with His love and peace in this time of mourning.
