Kimberly Hackman Swanson

On Friday, January 29, 2021, Kimberly Hackman went to be with the Lord at age 58.

Kimberly was born on October 23, 1962 in Kalamazoo, MI to Raymond Hackman Sr and Carolyn J. Smith.  She had a number of jobs throughout her life including substitute teaching, babysitting and foster care.  She also led bible studies at Community CRC and worked as an outreach coordinator.  However, her legacy is her overwhelming compassion and self-sacrifice not only for the people whom she loved, but also for people who had no one else.  She opened her house and her heart up to everyone.  Some of her favorite hobbies were finding beautiful rocks by the water, watching music videos, and collecting various things from the Nightmare before Christmas. She was a hero to the many lives she touched and will be deeply missed.

Kimberly is survived by her mom, Carolyn Smith, her dad, Raymond Hackman, her step mother Sharon Hackman, her sisters, April J. Hackman-Dial, Amy Ackley, and Angel Hackman, her brothers, Raymond and Tammy Hackman, and Bryon Smith, her children, Zachariah and Neha Hackman and Christopher Swanson, Cassy Willoughby, and Caleb Buskard, and her grandchildren, Liam, Logan, Lincoln, Catherine, Khushi, and Prisha.  On February 26th, visitation will be at 10am and a memorial service will be at 11am at Community Christian Reformed church which is located at 150 Burt Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49548.  For reservations, please contact zachhackman15@gmail.com.  Streaming services will be available at live.communitycrc.org.
