Kevin Jay Emmons, age 63, of Wyoming, affectionately known as “Mr. E.”, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Caroline Emmons; and his twin brother, Kelvin Emmons. Kevin worked for Godfrey Lee Elementary School as a paraprofessional, impacting the lives of many children, and was also known as “Mr. M&M” to all the students. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Brenda; his children, Rebecca Brooks, Tonja and Roy Kilbourn, Theresa Emmons, Matt Emmons Sr., Mark and Christina Emmons, Kelvin Emmons, Travis Emmons; stepchildren, Dennis and Joanna Kavanaugh, Crystal Davis; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brothers, Ward Emmons, Brian and Ann Emmons; sisters, Karen and Earl Gates, Monica and Barry Kleeves, Valerie Emmons; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Godfrey Lee Elementary School.
