Remembering Kerwin W. Koetje
Kerwin W. Koetje, age 93, of Caledonia, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 3, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; sons-in-law, Pete Tigchelaar and Al Hubach; siblings-in-law, Percy (Gert) DeKam, Maretta DeKam, Carl (Betty) DeKam, Don and Carol DeKam. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Deb Tigchelaar, Karen (Gary) Wolters, Judy Hubach; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Molewyk; many nieces and nephews. “Koetj” proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War as a morse code operator. He retired as a truck driver with a perfect driving record. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter, golfer, and bowler. Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, August 7, 2026 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial will be held at Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, August 6 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home and on Friday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith… II Timothy 4:7.
