Kenneth L. Miedema

Kenneth L. Miedema, age 85, of Jenison, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Ken was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa that treasured his family. He retired from Steelcase as a semi-truck driver after many years of faithful service. Ken was a Korean War veteran, proudly serving his country in the Army receiving the Purple Heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Marty; his children, Curt A. Miedema, Cindy and Jim Alkema, Steve and Linda Miedema; grandchildren, Nick and Sarah Miedema, Megan Miedema and fiancé, Rob Oldenburg, Zachary Miedema, Daniel Miedema, Hayden Miedema, Jeff and Rebecca Alkema, Michelle and Ryan Moroney, Justin and Jenna Alkema, Becky and Chris Plantinga, Andy and Colleen Miedema, Autumn and Luke Wiersema; several great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane Kamminga, Nancy and Hank VerKaik, Pauline Peterson; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday 2 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper- DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville, with Rev. Jeremy Visser officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
