Kenneth Robert Matice “Kenny”, age 31 of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He has finally found his peace. He was born January 12, 1986 in Grand Rapids, son of Kenneth N and Pamela (Chero) Matice. Kenny was a genuine man of many talents and a 2004 graduate of Godwin Heights High School. He was a gifted musician, with a passion for drumming in particular and was involved in several bands throughout the years. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed several hobbies involving tinkering. He had a love for RC racing, building craft models, Nintendo, indoor and outdoor gaming. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Pam Matice and Ken Matice; his twin sister, Kathy Matice; younger sister, Jill Matice; niece, Sophie Aleman; grandmother, Bonnie Kalkofen; girlfriend, Erika Homkes and Mable the cat; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday, February 24at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW. The family will meet relatives and friends Thursday 12 noon-2pm and 7-9pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Dear Matice family, please except my deepest condolences for the loss of your dear loved one Kenny. May Jehovah, the God of all comfort, (2Corintians 1:3,4) comfort you in your time of need. His word assures us at Isaiah 33:24 that one day there will be no more sickness and at Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:4, that one day death will be no more. At John 5:28,29, Jesus himself said that there will be a resurrection of those loss in death. And Psalms 37:29 guarantees that they will live again on a cleansed earth. Sad to see you go, brother, not many have I met could play the drums like you, so fast, and without hesitation. Nothing but fond memories of hangin' in the basement, wrenching on the Pacer, playing gigs and watching you bust up laughing at something only you and I noticed. How fragile is the flame that burns within us all, to light each passing day. Wish I knew you better, glad I had known you at all. Hope to see you again on the other side. Much love.
