My condolences to his family. When it all is said and done, Ken was a good man and a man of his word. RIP

I'm very sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I knew him for a brief time, like many who've left remarks here, and I'd like to add a couple other qualities to the growing list: creativity and caring well for the whole person--body and soul. Life Matters was neighbor to Great Lakes Fasteners when Ken was president there. He brought in a masseuse for employees! So impressive!

I have lived and raised my family in West Michigan for the last 18 years. If not for Ken, who hired me to work for Great Lakes Fasteners when he was the President there, I likely would not have had that opportunity. Ken invested in me consistently and even taught my son and I how to shoot. I am pretty shaken up by this, but rejoice that he is now with his Savior.

I only knew Ken a little, but knowing both Tim and Nathan, it was clear that Ken and Connie were not just amazing parents, but they loved God deeply and passed that on to their children. Having both of those guys as roommates in college for several years helped shape my spiritual walk. My deepest condolences to the entire family. Ken truly was an amazing man of God and his life shined Jesus to those around him.

We purchase Ken and Connie’s motorhome from them. I only became friends with Ken through phone and text, but wished I could have spent a little time in person. Ken seemed like an amazing person. Just yesterday, I was digging through the spare maintenance part bin of the motorhome and always need to say Wow from Ken’s organization and forethought. I’ve never felt this attached to a person I’ve never met. Ken must have been a real asset to everyone in his life.

We only knew Ken and Connie for a short time. We were “next door neighbors” while working at a SOWER project in Florida. Even in that short time, Ken had left a distinct impression on us. We were so impressed by the testimony of his life and the depth of his love for Jesus and others. To Connie and family, we pray that your sorrow and grief will be gentle, your peace will be full, and joy of hope for the future will fill your hearts.

Ken Bott and I crossed paths because we both worked for the same employer for 2 or 3 years, Great Lakes Carwash Systems, a car wash installation company. Ken was always gentle and kind, two fruits of the Spirit which are undervalued by a long shot in our day and age, especially in the particularly hostile political climate/environment we find ourselves located these days. Kindness and gentleness display the greatest evidence that a person's life is marked by Love, the one fruit of the Spirit which is indispensable in the lives of true believers, and the primary branch from which all the others hang! Ken often mentioned a wonderful sister in Christ, named Gloria Baker, who taught at Cornerstone University when he was a student there. Her method of discipleship was obviously effective in Ken's life, a method caught, not taught! She would be pleased, no doubt to see a living example of how a student becomes like his teacher! (Luke 6:40) Ken was the kind of person everyone liked to be with because of his gentle spirit, great sense of humor, excellent delivery of punch lines, as well as the kind manner in which he imparted wisdom. I will never be able to forget his reply to the question,”How are you doing, Ken?” His answer (well before Dave Ramsey's ministry existed) was nearly always,”Better than I deserve!” And it really did cause one to pause after the answer because it was very unexpected, but at the same time, incredibly profound! Congratulations brother Ken, on your promotion! Connie and family, I pray that you will be thoroughly comforted by the Spirit of God and that your minds are and will be greatly fortified by the memories that are a treasury of this dear man and the impact his life has had upon you, his family, and so many others, like me!
