Keith Kaniewski

Keith Edward Kaniewski, age 61, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Britni (Jason) Schipper, Jordon (Olivia) Kaniewski, Ashley Robinson; grandchildren: Layla and Marla Kaniewski, Gerrit, Zachary and Lincoln Schipper; parents, Joe and Vicki Kaniewski; brothers: Jeff (Barb) Kaniewski, Eric (Barb) Kaniewski; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his uncle, John Sundeen. Keith graduated from Kelloggsville High School in 1975 and then proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1975-1979. After his military service, he graduated with honors cum laude from Aquinas College. He was also an avid sports fan, playing softball for local teams and following the Detroit Tigers and MSU Spartans. Keith also loved politics and volunteered at local elections. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Faith Reformed Church, 618 32nd St. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Bruce Osbeck officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Those who wish are welcome to wear MSU or Tigers attire in his honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries or Michigan Public Radio.

Susan and I were saddened to hear of Keith's passing. He was passionate, smart and an intense athlete. We wish we had spent more time with him after high school. It was so good to hear about his life at the memorial service today. Our prayers for peace and strength are with his loving family.
