Kathleen Ann Kooiker (Almas)

Kooiker (Almas), Kathleen Ann Kathleen Ann Kooiker (Almas), aged 71, of Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kooiker. She is survived by her children, Susan (Ken) Brown, Ken (Jeannie) Almas, Scott Schmitt, Steven Schmitt; step-children, Kraig (Tara) Kooiker, Kevin (Denice) Kooiker, Kurt (Denise) Kooiker, Karla (Brad) VanBuren; grandchildren, Victor Almas, Benjamin and Jackson Brown; sister, Carla (Bob) Kennedy Giddings; brother, Robert (Cynthia) Kennedy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kathleen retired from the Michigan Treasury Department after many years of employment. She will be remembered as a remarkably thoughtful and generous person. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society Of West Michigan, Faith Hospice or Bethany Christian Services.
