Kathie Anne Miller

Kathleen “Kathie” Miller passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018.  She was born to Orvin and Mildred Miller in Philadelphia, PA on February 9, 1947.  Her parents preceded her in death. Kathie is survived by the children she dedicated her life to, Troy and Lee Markosky and their children, Jessica and Trevor, Gary and Judy Markosky and his children, Kelli and Brett, Darin Markosky and his children, Rachel and Emma; brother, Denny and Barb Miller; sister, Deb and Gary Kopp; several nieces and nephew; daughter-in-law, Susan Markosky; cousin, Margie Buhler; and special friends, Lori and Rich Mickam, and Judy Grooters.  Kathie was a strong, independent woman who loved her family and friends immensely. She dedicated her life to them. Many young lives were changed during her 30+ years of service with Grand Rapids Public Schools. To say that she will be greatly missed would be a gross understatement. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with her son, Troy Markosky officiating.  Inurnment will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Faith Hospice Trillium Woods.
