Kathi Ann DeJong

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathi Ann DeJong announces her passing on March 26, 2023. Kathi Ann worked for GM for many years, and her co-workers became her dearest friends. She was an avid dog lover and had many beagles. She was a brilliant seamstress, who could create the most beautiful pieces. She was an avid Red Wings Fan and would always have the game on. She also loved the beach in the summertime. Kathi Ann is survived by her sons, Mike Swedberg (Heather Leonard), Matt (Ericka) Swedberg; granddaughter, Destiny Dolphin; and niece, Amber Rose. Kathi Ann was preceded in death by her father, Gerard Wisman, and brother, Mark Wisman. Memorial services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, April 11 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Larry King presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at 10 am prior to the services at church. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Faith Hospice.

Kathy I miss you girl! Very kind, no nonsense kind of person. She loved her boys, her dogs, friends and life. Strong, independent union sister, Kathy's absence is felt by us all because she filled so many roles for a lot of people. My friend, a confidant and soul sister.... we will meet again.

Kathi and I never really socialized at work but we became friends through Facebook. Kathi Ann helped me out when I donated a charity boat ride to an organization for special needs young people and I needed a first mate. Thank you for coming into my life and Rest In Peace...!!!

Kathi Ann went to Godwin for a short time when I attended, in later years I became Facebook friends with her and we shared our love for the Red Wings. She was a super sweet lady and will be missed by many. May God bless her family and get them through their grief.

Kathi was my work friend I meet on 2nd shift. We worked together over the years I loved hearing about her dog's Maggie, Penni and buddies and yes Abbi.She was taken from us way to soon. I never seem to have the words for these. I will miss her very much. RIP Kathi got those wings now don't ya.

Kathi was a friend of my late father Joaquin Martinez. He asked me to friend her on Facebook. After he passed, I still would comment to her posts and she even helped me with training my dog a little. She will be missed. My family's prayers are with your family.
