Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
Karl David Millard, 88, entered the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 28, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of faith, humility, generosity, and devotion.
A man of quiet strength and unwavering love, Karl lived his life in service to others. He dedicated 51 years to Grandville Baptist Church, where he faithfully served, sharing the light of Christ with all who crossed his path. His work ethic was unparalleled - retiring from Michigan Gas Company (DTE) yet continuing to bless the community as a barber for over 60 years.
Karl’s hands were rarely still. Whether painting beautiful pictures, crafting walking canes, or being known as the “Treat Man” to every dog he met, his gifts brought joy to many. He was an adventurer at heart, finding peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand or deep in the woods with his brother, cooking meals over an open fire. It was in these simple, quiet moments that Karl’s spirit shone brightest.
Above all, Karl treasured his family. He leaves behind his beloved bride of 67 years, Jean Wielhouwer, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his life. He was a devoted father to four children, Karen (Tom Webber), Keith (Kris Smith), Karla (decd. 2000), and Karel (Joe Cordes); a beloved grandfather to seven; and a cherished great-grandfather to five. His kindness and thoughtfulness were a beacon of light, offering hope, comfort, and unwavering love to all who knew him.
Karl’s life was a testament to the beauty of faith, hard work, and selfless love. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue in the hearts of those he touched. As he now rests in eternal peace, we take comfort in knowing that Heaven has gained a gentle and faithful soul.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25: 23
