Kaitlyn Marie Brown

Kaitlyn Marie Brown (Boss), age 25, of Kentwood, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, and now is in the arms of Jesus. Kaitlyn was a creative and artistic person and had a love for animals. She also was a hockey fan. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a few aunts and uncles. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Wesley and Diane Boss, Jayne and Roger Curtis; husband, Jordan Brown; brothers and sisters, Cathy and Cal Schepel, Kristen Hayes, Carrie and Ken Van Dam, Katie DeWeerd, Holly Roosien, Chris Fletcher; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Westview Christian Reformed Church, 2929 Leonard St. NW, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Pete Byma officiating. Interment will be held at Blain Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to The Humane Society of West Michigan.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Kaitlyn’s family. For right now, there’s no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, “...power beyond what is normal “, to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget. It means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 which says, “... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out “. Jesus was referring to the resurrection. That is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. The Bible describes our Creator as, “... the God of all comfort “. One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now, during this time of sorrow. Kaitlyn will be missed. I wish I was in her life more than I was. I am sorry I can't make it to the service. My condolences for losing a child so young. At least she is no longer suffering. Love to all.
