Dear Sheryl, Sandy, and Steven,
Your Mom was always the “cool young version” of my Mom to me. She played golf, drove a convertible, worked… how cool! I remember an early place together with your Dad – a second floor apartment near the corner of Fuller and Alexander comes to mind. I don’t think they were there very long, but I may be making this all up. Maybe you know the place. Just went on Google and am guessing 1150 Alexander. I wonder how good my memory is of an event when I was about 10!!! Do you know?
The first time Marina met your Mom was a few years ago at Bill Hendriksen’s funeral. We sat and chatted during lunch and Marina was so impressed when your Mom said why she was skipping the cemetery – “I have friends to meet” she grinned. How cool is that for anyone her age!!!
Marina and I had a wonderful lunch with your Mom last August. She proudly bought at her retirement home restaurant. Then she showed us around and we finished with a nice long chat in her living room.
She told us how your Dad reached out and squeezed her hand, and then died. How sweet.
My mother always signed her letters “love and prayers” so in her honor, I’ve been doing the same since she died. For your health and happiness –
Love and Prayers,
Cousin Bob and Marina Ronan
PS: For the record in case you don’t know, here is a little about Aunt Margaret’s (and Uncle Larry) children, your cousins in Phoenix. Michael was the oldest, and was institutionalized. Next was David, then Pat, then Judy, then Ed, then James, then Joseph.
David is my twin cousin, born four hours after me on May 7, 1946. He knows about your Mom and said he would tell your other cousins. His current contact info follows:
