Julie Anne Kolenda

Julie Anne Kolenda, age 67, of Wyoming, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.  She cherished time with her loved ones and drew deep strength from her faith.  Julie found joy in cooking for her family and gathering around the table with others.  Throughout her life, she remained strong and courageous, relying on the Lord, especially during life’s most difficult moments.   She was also a mother figure to many “adopted” children who came to her for prayers and guidance.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jennifer Kolenda, Sarah and Ryan Klier, Fr. Andrew Kolenda, Jonathan Kolenda, Charles Kolenda, Kathryn and Jeremy West, Clare and Ian DeWitt, Bridget Kolenda and Emily Grace Kolenda; grandchildren: Karianna, Joseph, Peter, David, Anthony, Nicholas, Gregory, Regina, Bernadette, John, Casey, Shannon; siblings: Mary (Steve) Mitus, Jim Kozminski, Teresa (Rick) Kosla, Jayne (Scott) Pollie; father-in-law, Donald Kolenda Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marilyn Kozminski. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at St. Pius X, 3937 Wilson Avenue SW, Grandville with Fr. Andrew Kolenda and Fr. Brian Lenz presiding.  Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. A rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  A visitation will also be held Monday at the church from 10-11 a.m.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Apostolic School.
