Julie Ann Benson, age 73, of Kentwood, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jennie Burrows. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tim and Diane Benson, Linda and Kurt Brougham, Jill and Jeff Ball, Todd Benson; grandchildren, Joel and Seth Benson, Erika and Tim Elliott, Travis Spaulding, Justin and Jessica Ball; great grandchildren, Kallystah, Christopher, Karley and Bowen; sisters, Judy and Lloyd Peterson, Jane and Dick Guyott, Margie Kamppinen; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE with Dr. David Lee Smith officiating. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association.

Julie was a lovely woman and neighbor. When my grandmother died 15 years ago, she came over and checked on my family. She made so much food for the memorial too. It was such a kind act. She will be missed and her family has my condolences.

Dear Benson family,
Julie meant a lot to me. My mom would take Julie an me to brookside upper room bible study. I also remember her at community crc. She was a happy lady and will be missed.
