GONZALEZ - Julia Gonzalez aged 84 died peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 11:05 AM at her daughter's home in Sparks, Nevada. Julia retired from Grand Rapids Public School: Administration Secretary Assistant- Paraprofessional for 32 years. She was a member of Altar Society at Our Lady of Sorrows. Julia enjoyed cooking, traveling, crafts, sewing, shopping, and spending time in her garden. She was married in 1953 to her beloved husband, Juan M. Gonzalez (deceased) for 62 years. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Juana Aguilar; husband, Juan; sons, Marcial and Eduardo; her grandson, TiTi; sons-in-law, Juan Gonzalez, Richard Parker; Julia is survived by her children, Amanda, Robert, Lucy Parker, Jose (Mona), Patricia, Daniel, Ramiro, Jesus, and daughter-in -law Elisa; 25 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives. Julia retired from Grand Rapids Public Schools. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 101 Hall St. SE. Julia's family will greet relatives and friends from 2-4PM and 6-8 PM Friday at Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Wyoming, 3131 S. Division Ave and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Prayers of the Rosary will be recited 7:30 PM at the funeral chapel on Friday. Interment will follow at Kent Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to Diabetes Foundation.
