April 12, 2021

Judy L. (King) Russell-Ankin, age 72, of Grandville, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021. Judy spent her life being a caregiver for family and friends. In the beginning, she helped raise her brothers and sisters. When Judy became a mother, she knew this was her most precious role. She then became a daycare provider and raised many children. Judy then started her own house cleaning business for over 30 years and through her business made many lifetime friends. Most importantly, Judy’s pride and joy was her grandchildren and spending time with them, this is when she was the happiest. She had five grandsons and one granddaughter with which she had a very special bond. Judy and her husband enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing, dinners, dancing, and visiting their many friends. She became a self-taught, avid golfer and played on many leagues and enjoyed being outside. Judy also mastered many other hobbies: gardening, cross stitch, embroidery, and knitting. Her most precious gift was loving wholeheartedly and taking care of family and friends. Judy was a beautiful soul and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Watson and Lenora King; and her ex-husband, Lenny Russell. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 19 years, William “Bill” Ankin; children, Debbie (Roger) Erridge, Lee Allen (Kathy) Brock, Connie Jean (Stan Abrahamson) Brock, David (Jen) Ankin, Dawn (Mick) Denis; grandchildren, Brandon (Stefany) Westbrook, Cody (Crystal) Westbrook, Jimmy (Brittney) Petrick, Brett Brock, Jason Brock; very special granddaughter, Olivia Simone; and many extended grandchildren, Nicole, Sheila, Christopher, Aaron, Pat, and Brayden; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Korben, Jaimson, Kurah, Ivah, Eudeia, Lane, Tate; siblings, Watson King, Bonnie Waddell, Joann (Joe) Kanady; brothers-in-law, Bob Ankin, Ken (Connie) Ankin; several special nieces and nephews, Ronald, Renee, Sean, Christopher, and Rebecca; and many special friends. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.

Karen met Judy through golf league at The Pines which turned into a long friendship. She treated our home and our family as her own. Judy was one of the most self-less, caring persons we have ever known and treasure the time on earth we had together. Love ya Judy!❤️

No questions asked she just accepted me as family when we met years ago. Christmas with her felt like childhood Christmas all over again. The world was so much better for her existence. I hope to bring as much to those I love as she did. You are missed my dear friend Judy.
