Judy Kwekel, age 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1941. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arie Kwekel; sons, Larry Kwekel, Steven Kwekel, and Jack Kwekel; parents, Marvin and Jacoba Kroes; brothers, Richard Kroes and Ron Kroes; and sister, Marcia Foss. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Diane Strobridge, Douglas (Cheri) Kwekel, Sheryl Hammond, Lori Hammond, Robert (Mary) Kwekel, Timothy (Barbara) Kwekel, Calvin (Meghan) Kwekel; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Judy loved her family dearly and especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special love for roses and found great joy in their beauty. Above all, Judy loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a faithful witness to others of the love of Christ. She desired that those around her would know the same hope and salvation she found in Him. Her family is thankful for her faithful example and rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Free Reformed Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St., Hudsonville with Dr. Jerry Bilkes officiating. Interment will be at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday from 9-10 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
