Judy Hope (Harris) Roon

Judy Hope (Harris) Roon, age 78, of Allendale, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Judy worked for many years at Metropolitan Hospital as a surgical nurse. As her family grew, she became a very passionate and caring homemaker. She was active in the Allendale Sports Boosters while managing  the athletic concession stands.  She was her children’s and grandchildren’s number one sports fan. Judy was a woman of faith. She dedicated her time to her family and to serving her Lord. She was proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and the legacy of faith they have carried on. She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Russ Roon; parents, Ward and Gertrude Harris; sister, Jo-Ann DeGrush; brothers-in-law, George Smart and Pete Roon; and sister-in-law, Grace Roon. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Amy and Rick Hansen, Ronda and Zach Ruf, James and Traci Roon, Steven Russell and Lynnea Roon, Jennifer Hope and Thomas Vollmer; grandchildren, Aspen, Jacob, Annika, Joshua, Jeremiah, Emily, Abbigail, Isaac, Bryson, Braden, Tyler, Austin, Gwendolyn, Ronan, Roselyn and one more on the way; sisters-in-law, Muriel Smart and Betty Roon-Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Rusk Christian Reformed Church, 10354 92nd Avenue, Allendale with Rev. Mark Neymeiyer officiating. Interment Rusk Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rusk Christian Reformed Church and Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral.
