Judith Ann McCord

Judith Ann McCord (Myers) went to be with her Lord Sunday evening. Judy went peacefully with her loving family by her side at her home in Delton, Michigan. She was 83 years old. Judy was born in Big Rapids, MI on April 18, 1940 to Pauline Geraldine (Fredrick) and Ralph Leonard Myers. She was the oldest of four children. Judy married Richard William McCord Jr. in 1962 at Saint Andrews church in Grand Rapids. They raised four children in Wyoming, Michigan and attended Holy Name church. Judy worked as a nurse, caring for elderly and disabled patients. She was a caring and giving person who was generous with her time and always had something positive to say. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there when needed. She loved her grandchildren and we loved her stories. She enjoyed sewing clothes and crocheting hats for family members and made individualized hobo bags for family and friends. Judy’s banana and zucchini breads were delicious treats, and her beef pot roast was fantastic! She was an avid reader and also enjoyed bird watching and identifying each new species. She enjoyed her garden and hanging out with Lizzie the cat, and Mr. Pickles the dog. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jr.; her parents, Pauline and Ralph; sister-in-law, Marge Myers; son-in-law, Jeffery Roerig; her son, Richard III; and granddaughter, Emmalee Morelock. She is survived by her siblings, Barb TenHopen, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Tingley (Bill), William Myers; daughters, Kathi Roerig (Ken Morelock), Joanna Bos (Mark), and Shannon Denslow; grandchildren, Jason Roerig (Cindy), Jessica Nyhuis (Dave), Derek McCord (Melanie), Corey Coleman, Samantha Johnson (Alex), Veronica Shanahan (Ryan), Hanna Denslow, and Isaac Denslow; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf funeral home: 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming Michigan 49509. Visitation will be Monday, Nov 13th, 2023, from 10 – 11AM. A funeral service will follow at 11AM.
