Judith Ann Bonzheim

Judith Ann Bonzheim, age 62, of Grandville, went home to Heaven to join her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 24, 2016. Our beautiful Judy, wife and mother, unexpectedly lost her hard fought battle with cancer. The love of my life, my best friend, was everything to me. Her laughter, her tears and her contagious joy will be missed for the rest of our days. She was preceded in death by her father, John (Jack) Merdzinski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vern and Rose Bonzheim. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 30 years, Chris Bonzheim; daughters, Christina and Andrew Felten, Brianna Bonzheim; mother, Beatrice Merdzinski; brothers and sisters, John and Marilyn Merdzinski, Beth Merdzinski, Lynn and Rod Machiela, Lora and Tom Lee, Brian Merdzinski; brother-in-law, Randy and Janet Bonzheim; sister-in-law, Sherry Bonzheim; many close friends, including “the girls”, and many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Michael Zakem, Judy’s oncologist, and Jen Kladder, Judy’s wonderful nurse, for all the loving care you gave her as we journeyed through this fight for life together. You are truly extraordinary people. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday 11:00am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville with Fr. Chris Rouech Celebrant. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, prayer vigil to begin at 8pm, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gilda’s Club or the Cancer Center at Metro Health.

I am at a loss for words after recieving this devastating news. My heart goes out to your friends and family Chris. I did not know Judy but as your cousin i recall our close family and all of our visits back and forth as we kept family a priority.
