Joyce “Toots” Van Vels, age 91, of Grandville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Alex; son, Jon Van Vels; siblings, Rev. Norman and Joyce Haan, Ruth and Sherwood Kok. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sue and Mike Pelton, Jeff Van Vels; daughter-in-law, Amy (Van Vels) VanderMeer; grandchildren, Jamie and Justin Bytwork, Josh and Jessica Pelton, Amanda Van Vels, Jared Van Vels, Aubrey Van Vels, and Julie Van Vels; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carol and Jerry Velthouse; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Baldwin St. Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin St. Jenison with Pastor Don Van Slyke officiating. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 10-11 am prior to the service at church.
