Joyce Johnson

Johnson – Joyce Elaine Johnson nee Jobse, age 81, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Johnson Jr.; brother, Norman “Dale” (Joyce) Jobse; stepsister, Sally (Bruce) Dillenbeck.  Joy is survived by her two sons, John Johnson III and James (Renata) Johnson; nieces, Laura, Rochelle, Susan; nephews, Richard, Dirk and their children.  She was a loving mother to her sons and loved her family and friends dearly.  Everyone that Joy met was touched by the kindness of her heart.  She was always looking for her next adventure.  Joy was an avid bowler whose team went to the nationals. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching birds and squirrels, and traveling with her best friend, Anne Jackson.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 750 Gladstone Drive SE, East Grand Rapids.  The family will greet relatives and friends 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont and one hour prior to mass at the church.
