Remembering Joshua Kinzler

Joshua James Kinzler, age 21, of Grandville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. 

Josh’s greatest gift was his enormous heart. He was full of love and kindness and had a genuine ability to see the best in everyone. He gave his whole heart to the people he loved. No matter where he was, he took a sincere interest in each person he met, and his contagious personality often turned a new acquaintance into a friend in no time. His unique sense of humor brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. Josh approached everything he did with enthusiasm, always going all in once he set his mind to something. Above all, Josh will be remembered for the kindness, joy, and friendship he so graciously shared with others. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jason Kinzler; grandparents, James Kinzler, Wayne and Janice Chernick. Josh will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Kristi Kinzler; siblings, Hannah (Andrew) Minton, Jacob Kinzler; grandmother, Jackie Kinzler; several loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. A private service is being held for the family to honor Josh.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jason Kinzler Family First Foundation, the organization that was established in honor of his Dad.

I am so sorry for this unimaginable loss. Josh and I were friends and talked a lot during freshman year chemistry class. He was an amazing, genuine friend. He always checked in with me, asked how I was doing, and made everyone around him feel cared for. I will never forget his bright and contagious energy and the laughs we shared. I didn't get to know him extremely well, but he rode my bus, was in my Seminar class, and always talked with some friends and I after school. He was always really nice, had a fun sassy personality and I will miss him. Rest easy Josh🩷 My heart goes out to his family

I wasn’t close with Josh but knew everyone he knew and he would talk to me when we’d see eachother in the hallway and even though we weren’t even close, he somehow always asked me how I was and was so kind to me and very funny. He will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace❤️
