Josephine Mackus

Josephine C. Mackus, age 78, of Jenison, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie Jo Van Dyke; grandson, Grant Holthof; great grandson, Charlie Wright. Jo was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 60 years, John; children, Vicki and Reg Stroven, Julie and Dan Holthof; son-in-law, Ron (Sue) Van Dyke; grandchildren, Nicole and Billy Wright, Reid and Amber Stroven, Jonathan and Lauren Van Dyke, Paige and Michael Harley, Parker and Ally Holthof, Porsha, London, and Pierson Holthof; two great grandsons, Landon and Reggie; sisters and brother, Diane and Bob Allen, Norm Westrate, Lynne and Mark Monroe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Carol Mackus, Boyd and Ellie Mackus, Edy and Lloyd Vugteveen; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of Jo’s life will be held on Friday 6 pm at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland, with Rev. Don Van Slyke officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 4-6 pm prior to the service at the church.
