SWANSON - Mr. Joseph Swanson, aged 83 of Wyoming, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emmy Swanson. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Loraine; sons, Mark (Sandy) Swanson, Glen (Deana) Swanson; grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Luke; brother, Wendal Swanson; brother-in-law, Don (Marylyn) McLeod; several nieces and nephews. Joseph was a teacher at Byron Center Public School, teaching 3rd grade for 27 years. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Southlawn Church of God, 3880 Jefferson SE with Pastor Richard Alcumbrack officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends Sunday and Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
