Joseph Michael Anthony, known to most as Michael, aged 68 of Byron Center, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 28, 2023, and was called to his heavenly home. He will be dearly missed. Mike was a loving dad, son, brother, and friend to many who had a contagious personality and zest for life. Michael loved God, people, entertaining, performing magic tricks, telling jokes, playing cards, practicing the drums, and most of all, he loved his daughter Amanda (Mandy). Michael was known and beloved throughout West Michigan as the founder of KeyCard Fundraising, which connected his community through schools and businesses. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville. Relatives and friends may join the family for a visitation from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 followed by a service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.

I met Michael about five years ago. He did a lot of his majic tricks for me the first time we met. Michael was a good friend, always staying in touch to see how I was doing. He cared deeply for others. He was always praying for me through the loss of my brother, Mother, then my son. He was also praying for a very difficult situation in my life right now. Such a good man. He is now with Jesus with forever peace. I will miss him. Prayers for Amanda, His Father, and all the family.

Michael was a great friend. We went on many adventures together. He was consistent on making me laugh often. From single dances to casinos to late night diner’s, Michael was always up for an adventure. We were food critics from Chicago 😂 when went out to eat ( we got exceptional service 😂), Michael would say as we were on the road that we had to marry whoever’s picture was on the back of a truck, sorry to say I did NOT marry the service professor. 😂. He kept me laughing. You’re in good hands my friend. P.S. Don’t forget the extra cheese. Love you.
