I remember the first day I met Joe 21 years ago and I will always remember him saying to me are you sure you know what your getting into, and then he laughed and hugged me and said welcome to my family. I have been truly blessed in knowing a man that had so much love for life and family. He is a father in-law that took me in and called me son and loved as a son. I will miss Joe but he will always and forever be in my heart. Jeff Bachert

To my beloved father...I love you and miss you so dearly already. I don't know how I am to live my life without you. I can hardly breath without you in my life. I need you in so many ways, I want to love you more than I have already. You are soo missed and my heart will remain empty but yet full of life. I love you daddy. I love you until my last breath. Forever your daughter, forever your baby girl. I love you daddy. Denise Moreno Bachert

Grandpa you were honestly the best person I have ever met. I loved the long-funny stories you always told me when I came to visit. One of my favorite memories with you was the time when you came over, and you chased the other kids and I around with a dirty worm in your hand holding it up to your mouth as if you were about to prepare a "tasty snack". I loved hearing you sing and play your guitar downstairs in your room inspiring Skylar and I to play guitar. You will be missed so much never forget the love that I will always have for you. I hope to see you soon in the place we call Heaven. Savannah Bachert

Grandpa you're one of the best things that ever happened in my life all the memories I've spent with you and the laughter we made, but one of the best memories I had was the last New Year's Eve I spent with my you we stayed up till two in the morning watching movies and oh boy were they good. We had laughs, ate junk food, and you even helped me play my guitar, yet the words that keep me going we're the words "I knew when I was sleeping Skylar was watching over me." I just want to say grandpa I love you and I will always keep your words and laughter in my heart. I hope to see you again with love your grandbaby Skylar. Skylar Bachert

My grandfather was the best because he mad us all nicknames and he called me the bear and I will always cherish that and I will never forget him because he was very good to us and he's always in the best way and when we felt bad he made us happy and I will never forget it but my favorite thing about him is that he loves us and I'm happy about that. I will forever be your hunny bunny and you will forever be in my heart. I miss you so much, Grandpa. Devoney Bachert

Grandpa, you are an amazing person, a person anyone could talk to and instantly get along with. Grandpa is a name for someone who is caring, loving, and full of wisdom. You filled all those shoes and are an extremely amazing person. Every moment I had with you I will cherish. My favorite memory is seeing you with my daughter and feeling the love you have for her. We will miss you and love unconditionally. Love forever, Jessica and Baylynn. Jessica Russell

Joe was a kind of man that like to joke, laugh and just wanted to be among family. He loved everyone in his own special way. I'm glad, I got a sharing moment talking with him on the phone. He was in a good mood that day and he felt well to talk. I would of liked to had another chance to do it all again. For I enjoyed hearing his voice. He will be totally missed for sure but we know now he is at peace with no more pain and suffering upon him. God rest your soul Joe, my prayers will be with you and your family always, Love you. Your cousin God BlessYou. Alice Blanchard

" You look just like your Dad " , a phrase that I will never hear again. But a phrase that will always remind me of you, Uncle Joe. You are and will always be my best Uncle. I'm very proud to be your nephew and I will miss you dearly. Jesse Moreno, Jr.

Your a wonderful man. I love you forever. You gave me a fun and wonderful life. And someday we will be together again someday. Sandy Moreno

Joe (aka Sergio) was smart, witty and a great all-around guy. As a band member of his Sergio Montez and Blue Velvet Band, we've shared what seems like a lifetime of memories especially playing at The Edge Restaurant for almost two years. Not only did he enjoy music, but we both would go out for breakfast which was generally followed by going to a movie or just go window shopping. I'll miss him terribly but I know someday we'll be playing music together again. He loved you Denise to no end and would give you the world if he could. Thanks Serg for all the happy memories. Pete Garza

I will always remember your smile, your laugh, reading the newspaper or pretending to be sleeping just to tease Denise. It was so very easy to see the love you two shared as Daddy and Daughter. The twinkle in your eyes, the pride and joy, I don't believe I've seen a bond so very special and I feel fortunate to have witnessed this. My personal favorite memory was when you told me I reminded you of Rachel Ward, I still watch the "Against All Odds" video often, you'll always have a special place in my heart. May you rest peacefully ~ until we meet again. Maureen Seeley

I played guitar with Joe (Sergio) in the band many decades ago and remember the good times we had with him and Jesse. He was always looking to improve the songs and had a natural sense of how to sing a song and touch people emotionally. We did a range of music from pop to show tunes and country. He was such a sweet warm guy. I am glad I got to talk with him a few weeks ago. May he rest in peace. Julian Catford
