Josefa Vasquez-Sanchez

Josefa Vasquez-Sanchez, age 58, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 22, 2023. She was born in El Salvador and moved to California, where she met her husband, Javier. Together they moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1991 and they were the first ones of their families to come to Michigan. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Javier; son, Javi Sanchez; grandchildren: Nathaniel, Olivia, Daniel; sisters, Sara and Filimon Hernandez, Leonor Vasquez and Manuel Hernandez, Mercedes Rivera; brother, Roberto Vasquez; goddaughter, Luisa Hernandez; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. A funeral will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be held 12:30 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery on Friday, May 26, 2023.
