Jose A. Cadahia

Jose A. Cadahia, age 96, of Hudsonville, was called to his eternal home to be with his Heavenly Father on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Jose was born in Cuba and immigrated with his family to the United States in 1968 with the sponsorship of First Hudsonville CRC. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Clarivel Cadahia; son, Tony and Pam Cadahia; grandchildren, Jordan and Paige Cadahia. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Dave Jolman and Rev. Carlos Tapanez officiating. Interment will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, December 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The Cadahia's were close friends to my mother and father Yolanda and Fernando Capestany. Their friendship was fun to watch and they were always there for each other. Having all immigrated from Cuba in the 1960s, they shared a common bond and had an unusually close connection. They were always there for our family at every turn and were the first to bring food or aid if anyone was feeling sick. Jose will be greatly missed.
