Jon Burman

Jon C. Burman, age 59, of Jenison, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was welcomed home by his father who preceded him, Clem Burman. Jon was a loving and devoted husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and son who had a heart to do anything for anybody. His kind and selfless spirit was evident to all who knew him. He was blessed with a strong work ethic, and he always had endless energy to help his family and friends. Jon was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying time up north in the woods making memories with his family and friends. He loved his sports, especially the University of Michigan, and enjoyed all the Detroit teams. Above all, his faith in Jesus and his dedication to his family was his priority. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Dar; children, Erika and Jason Van Hoven, Elle and Bryan Powell, Jordon Burman, Jon “Jonny” Burman and his girlfriend, Ryleigh Beute; grandchildren, Jackson Alan and Levi Jon Van Hoven; mother, Marilyn Burman; parents-in-law, Fred and Gladys Butterworth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Don Fennema, Julie and Mark Fennema, Faith and Mark Van Vliet; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Deb and Scott Boer, Diane and Rick VanderWest, Doug and Michelle Butterworth; several loving nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Messiah Christian Reformed Church, 2900 Springdale, Hudsonville with Pastor Nate Meldrim officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also on Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Harbor House Ministries or to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
