Jon Alan VanVels

Jon Alan VanVels, age 53, of Jenison, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex VanVels. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Amy; children, Amanda, Jared, Aubrey; mother, Joyce VanVels; sister, Sue and Mike Pelton; brother, Jeff and Loretta VanVels; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Donna Hoezee; sisters-in-law, Tricia and Andrew Turowski, Melanie and Steve Bredeweg, Jenny and Frank Malott III; and many precious nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Pastor Rick Kiekintveld officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Susan Mast ALS Foundation.
