								Johnnie J. Boggs (Jay), 69, of Grand Rapids MI. passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 with his family surrounding him with love.
He was born in Waterloo, Ohio son of John and Ida (Hagerman) Boggs
Johnnie was an employee of Amway Corp. for 32 years until his retirement in 2011. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. During his tour of duty, he was stationed in Korea, Japan, and the U.S., being honorably discharged from Travis Air Force Base in CA.
He loved his family dearly always talking about the grandkids and also helped with taking care of the 69 foster children that were placed in the home for many years. He loved watching college football on Saturdays with his grandkids, you could always hear him talk to the TV saying GO BUCKS!
He leaves many memories for his family who are his wife of 42 years Roxanne Boggs of Grand Rapids MI: his daughters Sara (Tommie) Quam and Amy Boggs both of Grand Rapids his sons Daniel Boggs of Whitehall MI and Andrew (Laura) Boggs of Grand Rapids. His extended family of Michelle Kibler and Matthew Polderdyk of Grand Rapids, Gabrielle and Mickaylla Mc Neal of Toledo, OH and Stan Sacha of Grand Rapids. Grandchildren; Jonathan, Cody and Emily Boggs, Westley Spielmaker, Ryk Sacha, Kelby, Jaycee, Brooklyn, and Riley Quam, Leah and Carl Byrd all of Grand Rapids.
Sisters Janice Schuff of Ionia, Vanessa (Russ) Palmitier, JoAnn Vandenberg both of Saranac MI, Ellen (Jim) Chernoby, Kathy (Kevin) Smith, Teresa (Russ) Phillips all of Lowell MI and brothers Jim (Katie) Boggs of Ada, MI, Bob Boggs of Saranac and Chuck Boggs of Lowell, MI. Brother-in-law Dean Parsons of Mansfield, OH. Sisters-in-law Sharon “Teddy” Boggs of Bellville, OH, Sandy(Roger) Geurink of Jenison, MI, and Vicki (Rob) McMurray of Freeport MI and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Ida Boggs, brother Kelly Boggs, sisters Patricia Glass, and Phyllis Parsons, brothers-in-law Mike Schuff and Dale Vandenberg and parents-in-law John and Lois Houghtaling.
Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek MI.
Memorial and Celebration of Life will be July 20, 2019. Time to be determined.
