John William Booy

John William Booy, age 90, of Grandville, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.  He served in the United States Navy during WWII.   He sang in the choir at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL for 20 years and is now singing in God’s heavenly choir.  He trusted Jesus and His salvation all his years.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  John was an avid golfer which he continued to do until the age of 89.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Nell; son, John David Booy; daughters, Janice Booy, Barbara Pepper; grandchildren, Andrea (Jason) Gotcher, Eric (Kimberly) Pepper, Seth (Kafui) Booy, Joshua Booy; great grandchildren, James Gotcher, Mark Gotcher, Klay Pepper, and Dinesh Booy; sisters, Elberta Mulder, Mae DeBoer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don (Jan) VanderKlok; many nieces and nephews.  A private service for the family will be held.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, October 13 from 3-7 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Potter’s House.
