John S. Amante

John S. Amante, aged 88 of Wyoming, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Amante, just 10 days ago. He is survived by his children, Sharon (Jack) Dietz, John Amante, Marian Vos, Susan (David) Rinck, Tom (Tami) Amante; grandchildren, Tamara (Jesse) Lopez, Wendy (Andy) Bouwens, Troy Amante, Colleen Amante, Jamie Buckowing, Courtney Berry, Ryan Zmudka, Brandon Zmudka, Alyssa Rinck, Jeremy (Val) Amante, Christina (C.J.) Monsivais, Jennifer (Brent) Wenzel; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters and brother, Ann Calvaruso, Mary Russo, Joe (Connie) Amante; and many nieces and nephews. John retired from General Motors on March 1989. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 101 Hall Street SE, Grand Rapids with Fr. Ted Kozlowski presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a rosary to be held at 7:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
