John R. “Bob” Becker

John R. “Bob” Becker, age 85, of Wyoming, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, January 16, 2023. Bob was a dedicated, loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. He rarely missed one of his kids’ or grandkids’ sporting events or activities. He graduated from Cadillac High School and was named All State in Football. He later graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Bob loved to tinker with anything mechanical and was known in the neighborhood as “The Godfather” because he would help anyone who needed something fixed. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and maintaining the cottage in Trufant. Bob and Joyce (Schneider) were married on February 24, 1962. He also volunteered with the AMBUCS to assemble tricycles for special needs youth. Bob was preceded in death by his parents John Julius and Marie Antoinette Becker. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; children: John and Aurelia Becker, Robert and Beth Becker, Gregg Becker, Susan and Jonathan Ritter; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 20, 2023 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier presiding. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Faith Hospice.
